Here's a recent photoshop image which I have done based on a tutorial which I follow. Well it doesn't really look as great as how the tutorial final image was but yeah, somehow looks okay I guess.

The problem is I didn't follow the tutorial exactly which could be the main reason why the meteor and flare is somewhat odd
